The Attorney General of Lagos State and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo , disclosed on Wednesday that no fewer than 1,000 petitions relating to forceful takeover of land by land-grabbe
rs, otherwise known asThe attorney general said the petitions were submitted to the state’s Special Task Force Against Land Grabbers, which has been able to resolve 350 of the cases.
Onigbanjo said Lagos would spare no efforts in the arrest and prosecution of land-grabbers, adding that the Special Task Force Against Land Grabbers would continue to be strengthened. He said, “The task force with five counsel received 1,000 petitions out of which 350 have so far been resolved, while over 600 are pending and are at various stages of resolution.
Onigbanjo also said the state’s Citizens Mediation Centre in the last one year facilitated amicable settlement of N1.2bn debts among residents.
