The Lagos State government, yesterday, described the proposed new electricity policy as vital to making the state a 21st century economy, which is part of the agenda of the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The state government said that the policy would serve as a key driver for its social and economic development aspirations in line with its 30-year Development Plan being developed.

Other efforts being made to improve electricity supply include collaboration with leading meter providers to provide meters to low-income communities, and supporting the local design and production of reliable smart meters through the Lagos Smart Hackathon.
