A release signed by the Head of Administrative and Human Resources, Lagos State Electricity Board, Mr. Shitta Demilola Lateef, said the initiative aligned with the State Government’s commitment to improving energy access and sustainability while enabling efficient energy usage.
While noting that the endeavour will significantly advance the present administration’s mission to increase power efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, the Director pointed out that the project will provide leverage to actualise the Lagos State Electricity Policy.He said the journey towards #Greater Lagos as envisioned by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the T.H.E.M.E.
He reiterated that through dedicated efforts, the Agency has empowered numerous MDAs to reduce energy expenditure and minimise environmental impact, adding that awareness of staff on the government’s commitment to energy efficiency is critical to link the state’s energy use with greenhouse gas emissions.
He maintained that the audit project will be rolled out in phases across all state facilities including hospitals, schools, and other institutions with early results showing an average energy savings of 25% in the initial 19 agencies.
