Some commuters and business owners along the Lawanson-Itire Road in the Surulere area of Lagos State have lamented the poor state of the road.

The commuters and business owners, who described the road as a death trap, said the state government had abandoned it.

“I had to stop going out with my car, because it kept spoiling on the road. I have spent so much money to fix it. I just have to keep the car at home and make use of public transport. The Lagos State Government should come and fix this road and others so as to give the residents peace of mind.” She said, “The condition of the road is horrific, so many trucks have fallen down and so many accidents have been recorded. I have stopped passing through the road and now make use of alternative roads.
