Lagos building collapse: Don’t allow this incident to repeat again, Buhari tells Ambode
In a statement disclosed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari, sympathized with the parents and relations of the deceased and wished them God’s comfort. He also wished the injured speedy and complete recovery.Mr President equally commiserated with the government and good people of Lagos State, and pledges assistance of the Federal Government as may be required by the state.
Emergency personnel rescue a child at the site of a building which collapsed in Lagos on March 13, 2019. – At least 10 children were among scores of people missing on March 13, 2019 after a four-storey building collapsed in Lagos, with rescuers trying to reach them through the roof of the damaged structure. The children were attending a nursery and primary school on the top floor of the residential building when the structure collapsed.
“It touches one to lose precious lives in any kind of mishap, particularly those so young and tender. May God grant everyone affected by this sad incident fortitude and succour,” the President said. He charges the Lagos State government to do all that is needful, so that such tragic developments do not recur in future.
