The Lagos State House of Assembly has issued a warning to its former Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, against any actions that could destabilize the legislative arm. The Lagos State House of Assembly has warned its impeached Speaker , Mudashiru Obasa, against destabilising the legislative arm.The warning comes on the heels of Obasa's recent claims that his removal as Speaker did not follow due process. In a statement signed by Ogundipe Olukayode on behalf of the assembly, the lawmakers reaffirmed their solidarity with the newly elected Speaker , Mojisola Meranda. The assembly also reaffirmed Obasa’s impeachment on January 13.

Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa and we shall defend our position to the latter,” the statement read.“All members were elected from their various constituencies across the state, and we all have the inalienable rights under the necessary statutory orders to remove our principal officers, including the Speaker,” the statement added.Olukayode described Obasa's actions as uncalled for and said any attempt to heat the polity would be resisted.
