The Lagos State Government has urged public workers in the state to comply with Financial Management Law and other extant financial provisions as a pre-requisite for quality public service.

“There is a need for civil servants to comply with Financial Management Law and other extant financial provisions as a pre-requisite for a virile public service and we should remember that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu places a high premium on strict compliance with due process in the management of public funds.”

The state Commissioner for Finance, Dr Rabiu Olowo, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Temitope Hundogan, advised civil servants, especially those in charge of the state’s finance, to desist from financial infractions. Also, the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Mrs Olubunmi Fabamwo, highlighted the need to improve the metrics of public financial management and entrench the culture of financial efficiency and effectiveness among public workers. All rights reserved.
