Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Edo, has attributed the state’s challenges to “lack of leadership”.
Akpata, who is running in the September 21 off-cycle election, argued that the successes in states like Abia and Anambra underscore the importance of effective leadership. “I have gone round Edo state five times now, and it is the same story across the state. I went to a school, Uhiele grammar school in Esan local government, founded in 1970; it looks like a war zone.”
