The Labour Party 's presidential candidate, Peter Obi , has praised the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for revitalizing the old Port Harcourt refinery. The refinery, which started production on Tuesday, currently operates at 70% of its 60,000 barrels per day capacity and is planned to reach 90%. It produces 1.4 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit, 900,000 litres of Kerosene, 1.5 million litres of Automotive Gas Oil, and 2.1 million litres of Low Pour Fuel Oil daily.
Obi also highlighted the need for transparency in NNPC operations to ensure accountability and the equitable distribution of benefits
