It described the allegations as untrue, saying they were concocted by the sponsors of a press conference held on Friday, March 31, 2023, by people it called “unknown faces,” in one room in Abuja where Abure’s suspension was announced. The statement issued by the national headquarters of the party rejecting Abure’s suspension read, “We think that the sudden suspension was an afterthought of some opposition parties purely to distract the leadership of the Labour Party at this time.
