A coalition supporting the Labour Party has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using intimidation and propaganda to silence Peter Obi, the party's 2023 presidential candidate, and deter him from running in 2027. A coalition under the banner of the Alliance for all Labour Party Stakeholders and Professionals has accused the All Progressives Congress of resorting to desperate tactics to discredit Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party 's 2023 presidential candidate, and deter him from contesting in the 2027 elections.

The coalition further criticized the APC for what it described as a “policy of institutionalized impoverishment,” accusing the party of creating record-breaking poverty and inequality under the current administration.
