The Trade Union Congress has flayed governors over the failure of state houses of assembly to pass the local government autonomy bill in the ongoing constitution amendment exercise.

“If they know they can’t promote bills to protect the common citizens, why are they in the house? Why are they wasting tax-payers funds on unnecessary sittings? It is unfortunate.”

The Senate and the House of Representatives subsequently approved 44 of the bills without difference and were transmitted to the states parliaments for their resolution on March 27. Others are Constitution Bill No 8 ; Constitution Bill No 9 ; Constitution Bill No. 10 ; Constitution Bill No. 11 ; Constitution Bill No. 21 , Constitution Bill No. 22 .

The passed bills also include Constitution Bill No. 41 Bill No. 43 ; Constitution Bill No. 44 ; Constitution Bill No. 45 ; Constitution Bill No. 48 .
