Wise old owl that he is, Kyle Lowry knows to take everything going on the NBA with a grain of salt. Team records, individual performances, places in the standings. They don’t mean s lot.
Lowry’s attitude played well when he and the Heat got off to a sluggish start, going 2-6 while Lowry scuffled with his shot and his game. But Miami brought a three-game winning streak to Toronto, with a resurgent Lowry averaging about 12 points, six assists and six rebounds and looking far more like himself.
“It’s a great accomplishment but, like I always say, I’ll look at my accomplishments when I’m done and retired,” he said. “It’s cool to get some acknowledgment but, for now, let’s go and try to get some more wins.”“One thing about it is, it’s a marathon and not a sprint,” the 36-year-old said. “Early in the year we were trying to figure out our team.
“That’s our league in general,” Lowry said. “The Western Conference has two teams that separated themselves. That’s the great parity of our league and how it’s set up now. It wasn’t going to be as difficult as his first time back in the arena but it wasn’t going to be easy, either.
