A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday sentenced a 31-year-old student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Bashiru Azeez, to six months imprisonment over $9,891 fraud.
The witness tendered the extra-judicial statements of the defendant, HP laptop, one RX 330 Lexus car and one phone in evidence of the crime against the defendant, following which the counsel urged the court to convict the defendant as charged.
Justice Yusuf, in his judgment, sentenced the defendant to six months imprisonment with N200,000 as option of fine. The judge also ordered the forfeiture of the convict’s car, one iPhone XR, and HP laptop to the Federal Government.All rights reserved.
