Spokesman for the aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Jide Usman, tellsthat the G-16 may take a decision that may negatively affect the party’s chances if the governor does not make governance inclusive for membersOur group consists of Kwara State opinion leaders; we are leaders from our various wards in the 16 local government councils. We got ourselves together to work for this government for better performance and the group is known as the G-16.

Your group recently raised some issues, which you said had not been properly handled by the government. What are some of these issues? We are members of the APC and we have the right to have a say in the government that we formed together. We go to our various homes and local government areas and we know what the people are saying. Sometimes, we don’t have sufficient answers to give to what people are saying and that is why we want to see our leader and put things across to him, so that we can be more educated on what the government is doing.

Members of your group are experienced politicians; are you saying that you have not been able to see the governor since he came to power to have a talk with him? Yes, we have not been able to see him. It is necessary that we see him not because we want money or anything, but to convey the genuine complaints and advice as well as observations that the people are giving us with what the opposition parties are doing against our party. We want to pass all these to our leader. We even visited the state chairman of our party. We have tried to see him.No, we didn’t threaten to leave the APC, but it depends on the interpretation.
