Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has directed the payment of the new minimum wage starting from October 2024. According to a statement by the state government, the governor approved the payment of the N70,000 new minimum wage as announced by the Federal Government over the weekend.
The statement, signed by the state Commissioner for Finance, Hauwa Nuru, said the approved minimum wage would be implemented across the state's public service, effective from October 2024.
Nuru said Governor Abdulrazaq 'remains committed to the welfare of public servants and all citizens of Kwara State, as part of the broader vision for sustainable development and economic stability.' 'The template also covers workers in the 16 local government areas of the state.
