The Kwara State Government, on Monday, gave out 65,000 face masks to schools ahead of Wednesday’s resumption of SS3 pupils.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, who is also the spokesperson for COVID-19 Technical Committee, said the face masks were to be given to the exit pupils as part of the government’s efforts to flatten the curve of COVID-19 transmission in the state.
The statement quoted the Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, as saying, “On behalf of the Kwara State Government and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, I present these face masks to the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Bisola Ahmed, for onward distribution to our SS3 pupils as they prepare to resume academic activities. This is just the beginning as they will get more and more of our support.
The commissioner said the government was making efforts to adhere strictly to the preventive measures as directed by the Federal Ministry of Education for the safety of the pupils. She said only the SS3 pupils were to resume on Wednesday, adding that other exit students would be communicated on the date of resumption ahead of their own examinations. All rights reserved.
