Rafiu Kolawole and Austin Aigbotsua were, at the weekend, among winners in the various categories of the Ikeja Golf Club’s 2024 Captain’s Day tournament.
The event, which lasted from March 18 to 23, featured veterans, Super veterans and Men’s winner handicap among other categories.
In the Ladies category, Remi Olufadebo emerged winner in Ladies’ NETT, while Lynda Obieze winning the Best Gross category. “I can say authoritatively that this club is moving to the next level. Our achievements and projects unveiled in the last 365 days are not farfetched. Despite the harsh economy, we have been able to deck our car park, renovate the new club house, get a new sod cutter, new mowers, John Deere 800 aeration equipment, Salsco 616 wood shredder, Turbine cyclone blower, replacement of 4nrs main pavilion TV monitors, Hole 1 green expansion and others.
Atletico Madrid captain and record appearance-maker Koke renewed his contract with the club on Monday until at least the end of next season.
