The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has banned the use of fireworks, commonly known as ' Knockout ' or ' Banga ,' in the state. In a statement issued by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, the Commissioner warned that anyone who violates this order will be arrested and prosecuted. The ban also applies to shop owners who sell or supply fireworks. The Commissioner advised parents to warn their children to stay away from playing with these items.

Law-abiding citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest security agents
