The management of the Dangote Group has distanced itself from the fire incident at the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex on Monday morning. SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the State House of Assembly complex located at Crusher Area, Lokoja, the state capital, was reportedly razed by fire.

However, the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained and when the Speaker of the House, Mathew Kolawole, was asked if the fire incident was related to the recent faceoff between the Assembly and the Dangote group, he was quoted as saying, “We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward.”

It said, “Our attention has been drawn to a circulating Press Statement issued by the Kogi State Government, wherein the Dangote Group was accused of allegedly sponsoring arsonists to set the Kogi State House of Assembly on fire in the early hours of Monday, October 10, 2022. “As a socially responsible corporate entity, we totally refute this allegation and condemn this unprofessional and irresponsible attempt to smear our image before local and international investors and thus erode our brand value.
