Kogi activist condemns Smart Adeyimi’s comment comparing military, democratic rule in Nigeria
The latest hit is coming from the Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution, CHRCR, Comrade Idris Abdul Miliki, condemning the statement of the lawmaker during his contribution to a debate on the Bill for the establishment of an Electoral Offences Commission.
Comrade Miliki in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday said, “Legislators at all levels globally, nationally and locally, are products of laws and constitutionalism. The democratic process that usher in all elected representatives in Nigeria, of both the executive and Legislators are very fundamental.
” It is frustrating and demoralizing that despite the immunity enjoyed by Senators on the floor of the Senate, that Senator Smart Adeyemi is making such comparison. “Senator Smart Adeyemi needs to live and represent the democratic values of the people of Kogi West Senatorial District which he was voted to represent, as he was not sent there by himself but with the mandate of the good people of Kogi West.
