Killings: Security Agencies Must Work Together, Gather Intelligence – Colonel Dare.

A security expert, Colonel Yomi Dare has called on security agencies to work together and gather intelligence in addressing the spate of killings and other security threats in several parts of the country., he said community policing is a long term approach in addressing the security challenges, stressing that the government must not trivialise the issue.

Dare also attributed the high wave of crimes in the country on the alleged politicizing of security matters. He believes that an improvement in the welfare of the police personnel would help address the security challenges.“We have almost 7,000 police formations in Nigeria. I think in 2015 budget, we had about N20 billion allocated to the police, only N9 billion was released and N114 million for the running of the police stations.

Both remarks come in the wakes of attacks by suspended bandits in Zamfara State that have led to the loss of several lives.
