Kidnappers of Ondo driver demand N5m ransom
Suspected kidnappers who were reported to have abducted a commercial driver, Felix Akinde, in Ondo State on Tuesday have demanded for N5 million ransom.Recall that the driver, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Worker, NURTW, Ekiti State branch, who was kidnapped on the Akure-Ikere road was waylaid by his abductors at a bad portion of a road close to the NYSC farm in Iju/Ita-Ogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo state.
Confirming that the kidnappers have established contact with the driver’s family, a source within the family, who pleaded anonymity, stated that the abductors are demanding for N5 million naira ransom before they will set the driver free from their den. “They said that he is in the bush with them and would only free him when we are ready to cooperate on the ransom.
“Although, the have family have met with his friends in the NURTW to help us out in raising this money.
