Former champion Robert Whittaker met unbeaten contender Khamzat Chimaev in a massive title eliminator fight at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi.
The co-main event of UFC 308 saw Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev square off to decide which man will challenge for the middleweight title next.The two men were originally scheduled to headline a UFC Fight Night event in June before Chimaev withdrew just before the card, which set the stage for Whittaker to knock out short-notice replacement Ikram Aliskerov in under two minutes.
Whittaker nearly scrambled back up on several occasions but was unable to escape, and when Chimaev locked up a rear naked choke it forced a quick tap from "The Reaper" due to an apparent injury to his jaw.
