Nigerian-American superstar Kelechief is back, and this time for the long haul. With his latest album dubbed, ATLagos, spinning the rounds, the record’s lead single featuring Ghanaian superstar Amaarae, Fine Wine, is ageing well on the charts and music circles. From the mid-2010s, the singer, rapper, producer, and filmmaker started gaining popularity within his community as a lyricist. After winning a Mountain Dew open call contest, he earned a $50,000 grant to make an album, the fruit being 2016’s Before the Quarter. Self-produced in collaboration with Zane and Steph Swanky, Fine Wine is a scintillating high spiked with some mid-tempo soul-fusion, as Kelechief slow raps about being love drunk.

Like other songs in ATLagos, the record reverberates with a very emotive clarity on Kelechief’s intimate and confident artistry.
