KEDCO Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer , Abubakar Yusuf, said they had engaged three reputable companies to construct 35 kilometres of 33KV high tension line from Bichi Transmission Sub-station to Dawanau market, instal two 500KVA 33/415 transformers and low tension lines to serve the area and environs at the N1.2 billion.

He said: “On take-over in November 2023, the new core investor immediately embarked on network rehabilitation and expansion to improve access to quality and reliable power supply for the socio-economic growth of KEDCO’s tri-state of operation. A caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party has lent its support to Umar Damagum to continue as the acting national chairman. The PDP has been embroiled in a leadership tussle, with members urging the resignation of the Damagum-led National Executive Committee . Damagun will, however, maintain his position as the party's acting national chairman…The Central Bank of Nigeria has reduced the Loan-to-Deposit Ratio of deposit money banks from 65 per cent to 50 per cent.

Comptroller Dera Nnadi, the Customs Area Commander , Tincan Island Ports , says that the command generated a revenue of N303.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024.
