The Katherine region entered its first lockdown on Monday with the community on high alert after a positive case visited the town.

"My other staff members are all casual, so they're out of pocket for these few days that we are actually closed."

"Because obviously we have had an amazing tourist season, especially up here in the NT, and the Territory has been so much better off compared to the rest of the country, which has been amazing," she said."I think the town is actually doing really well and staying and home and taking the opportunity just to rest, really."
