EXACTLY one year after his death, loyalists of the late Ogun State-born politician and business tycoon, Senator Buruji Kashamu, said they were still mourning their late leader.

Kashamu, who was the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in 2019 election, died on August 8, 2020, in Lagos from COVID-19 complications. While some of his loyalists reconciled with Ladi Adebutu faction of the PDP, others defected to the All Progressives Congress. Addressing newsmen in Abeokuta on Sunday, a factional State Chairman of PDP, Samson Bangbose, who led other Kashamu loyalists, described him as a philanthropist, grass roots mobiliser and lover of the masses.

Bamgbose said the PDP in the state and the late politician’s loyalists were poised to sustain his legacy.
