The legal team representing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday, served copies of the judgment of the Court of Appeal which freed him on the Department of State Services and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
More than 24 persons, including Pius Awoke, a member of the legal team representing Kanu are still being held by the DSS, their solicitor, Nnaemeka Ejiofor, said on Monday.
“Once a person is forced to disappear, such a person loses the protection of the law. The persons under this unlawful detention are purely under the state of nature and in these days of trading in human parts, one cannot tell if they have been balkanised and sold in bits and pieces. Ejiofor stated these during a press conference attended by the detainees’ wives and family members in the office of Kanu’s lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
