The Nation Newspaper Kano to tackle corruption despite intimidation, says Yusuf
The governor spoke at the opening ceremony of a one-day anti-corruption symposium on the roles of law enforcement agencies in the fight against corruption. The workshop was organised by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission in conjunction with the State Police Command, at the Kano Anti-Corruption Institute.
”My administration will not interfere with the activities of the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission,” Yusuf said. “Just yesterday, a Kano State High Court delivered a judgment in favour of the Commission. The court ruled that the Commission has the jurisdiction to investigate any alleged corrupt case in the state,” he said.
Gado advised that anyone who wants to challenge the anti-graft commission should approach the court instead of resorting to intimidation and harassment.
