The Governor Abba Yusuf-led administration has marked multi-million naira plazas and filling stations for demolition in continuation of its demolition exercise in Kano State. It was learnt that the properties are located along the popular BUK road. This is said to be part of the government's ongoing effort to remove what it deems as illegal structures on public lands.

While a few of the structures marked for demolition by the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority are under construction, majority of them have been completed. SaharaReporters had reported that Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State ordered immediate demolition of a roundabout structure located near the State Government House.
