The Kano State Police Command successfully recovered a stolen motorcycle and apprehended two suspects involved in the crime.

Police in Kano State have recovered a stolen motorcycle from suspected criminals. The recovery came after receiving detailed intelligence regarding the suspects' mobile phones on December 9, 2024. Spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, announced on Thursday that two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the theft. The suspects are Ado Yusuf (40 years old) and Rabiu Suleiman (35 years old).

Initially, during the investigation, the suspects failed to provide complete information about their backgrounds and how they came into possession of the two motorcycles found with them. On December 17, 2024, the stolen motorcycle, registered as KGM 246VC, was returned to its owner at the police headquarters. The owner stated that the suspects drugged the motorcycle driver, Mamman Musa, before stealing the vehicle. Following the report, Mamman Musa was taken to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, and subsequently transferred to Kano Reformatory Institute Kiru for further care before his eventual discharge. Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, confirmed that the motorcycle has been returned to its rightful owner. He expressed satisfaction with the achievement and ordered a thorough investigation to ensure that the suspects are brought to justice. The command also urged anyone who has been a victim of similar crimes, especially those who have had their motorcycles stolen through drugging, to report at the Police Public Relations Office in Bompai or call these phone numbers: 07038874340, 08032419754, 08123821575, and 09029292926
