Abdulkadir Abdusalam, the Kano state accountant-general, announced the development while addressing journalists on Monday. He said the governor has issued a directive for an investigation to establish the authenticity of the workers’ engagement and procedures to remove those illegally recruited. Abdusalam said the affected workers can continue working in their various posts until the investigation is concluded.Last year, the Kano chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party described the recruitment exercise of the Ganduje-led administration as suspicious while accusing the government of collapsing the civil service in the state.
Since Yusuf took the oath of office on May 29, he has been rolling back some of the policies of his immediate predecessor.an investigation into “inappropriate deductions” from the salaries of civil servants and revenues of state hospitals by some firms.
