“The Kano state government is dedicated to fostering infrastructural development while preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region,” Habib said.“Governor Yusuf said the place is suitable for the work and will not pose any challenge after a careful survey was conducted and assured the citizens of better projects ahead.The monument was constructed in 2017 to mark Kano at 50 by the immediate past governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Meanwhile, in another development, a federal High Court sitting in Kano on Monday restrained the state government from further demolishing, revoking and trespassing on buildings and other landed properties in the state.In an application filed by Saminu Muhammad who is the owner of two buildings already marked for demolition in Salanta Quarters along Bayero University Kano , against 12 defendants, the court granted the ex parte order restricting the defendants’ action.
A certified copy of the order granted by Justice Simon Amobeda warned that the defendants and their agents should stay action pending the determination of the substantive suit.
