Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano State, announced the establishment of a digital platform for contract awarding by civil servants and local government chairpersons to ensure transparency in government expenditure and promote good governance. He also highlighted initiatives such as a central criminal register software and proposed amendments to anti-corruption laws to enhance the state's justice system and asset management.

The symposium was organised by the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission in collaboration with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance and Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption . Yusuf said his government has proposed amendments to the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Law.
