Kano Emirate: Arewa youths state position on Sanusi’s dethronement by Gov. Ganduje
The Arewa Consultative Youth Forum, ACYF, has reacted to the dethronement of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
The Alhaji Shettima Yerima-led ACYF said although they were not in support or happy about the removal of an Emir, it was wrong for a traditional ruler to be involved in partisan politics, disrespect the higher authority or mismanage the emirate as Sanusi is accused.by Umar Ganduje But Alhaji Shettima Yerima, the Arewa youth leader, in a chat with DAILY POST on Monday in reaction to the development, warned that this will serve as a deterrent to other traditional rulers.
“The feud between [Sanusi and Ganduje] has been there and the government will never allow the traditional institution to undermine their authority and the traditional institution must respect the law. By law, the state government remains superior. the government raised a lot of issues. The issue of mismanagement of the Emirate is one of the allegations that they made mention of. The accused the traditional ruler of being partisan. These are the stories that are before the public.
