The Kano State House of Assembly has passed the Kano State Forensic Laboratory Bill 2025. The bill, which went through its third reading during Tuesday’s plenary session presided over by Speaker Hon. Ismail Falgore, was reviewed clause by clause in the committee of the whole house before its final passage. The House Clerk, Bashir Diso, led the legislative proceedings. Speaking to journalists after the plenary, Majority Leader Hon.
He also highlighted its significance in resolving land disputes, especially cases where a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued to multiple individuals. “There are instances where a court may seek to know the authenticity of a document, and it can refer it to the forensic expert for professional analysis,” Husseini stated. He further emphasized that penalties, including imprisonment, fines, or both, will apply to individuals found guilty of forgery based on forensic findings.
