Former Governor of Abia State and senator-elect, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on Nigerians to accept the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in Saturday’s presidential electionHe also called on Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, to congratulate Buhari on his victory.
He said the election was tough and keenly contested by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, but that Nigerians should take a cue from what happened in the United States in 2016 when President Donald Trump and former Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton contested for the presidency.He said:”The election was tough and hotly contested by the two main political parties in Nigeria, the PDP and the APC.
We will strive to strengthen our unity and inclusiveness so that no section or group will feel left behind or left out, Kalu urged Nigerian to please trust the President and continue to have faith in our democracy and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.h
