The Kaduna State Peace Commission , in collaboration with Vatebra Limited and the United Nations Development Programme , has launched Conflict Early Warning and Early Response System , an integrated web, mobile app and Short Message Service -based system compatible with android devices and tablets.

The innovative security tech solution allows people in conflict areas of Kaduna State to properly read and send feedback on the progress of elections, security situation and crisis within the state, for timely response by appropriate authorities to avert violence or conflicts. Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai; his deputy, Hadiza Balarabe; Vice Chairman, Kaduna State Peace Commission, Priscilla Ankut; UNDP representatives, Embassy of Norway, representative of Civil Society Organisations, representative of traditional leaders and religious leaders, among others, were present at the launch.

The Business Manager, Vatebra Limited, Kenneth Omale remarked: “The app will give a holistic view of the incident map of Kaduna, engage communities to report early, warning signals, initiate timely response, control fake news spread, and generate data for informed decisions and policy making.” Vatebra Regional Head, Abuja, Elsie Njoku, also noted that the CEWERS governance structure would be an avenue for the general public, who will pose as anonymous, to escalate incidents.
