Uba Sani , governor of Kaduna , has taken a step towards peace by receiving repentant bandits in Birnin Gwari LGA. The state government, in collaboration with federal agencies, has established 'The Peace Dialogue Group' to engage stakeholders and build bridges of trust.
Several senior bandit leaders have laid down their arms and are now participating in a rehabilitation programme designed by the Kaduna state government in partnership with the federal government, adhering to international standards for disarmament, demobilisation, and reintegration. The state government is committed to decisive action against any continued violence and is developing the Kaduna model, a framework for sustainable peace and security. Insecurity is decreasing, and ethno-religious tensions are becoming a thing of the past.
