Kauru Local Government Community Development Association in Kaduna State has raised concerns about the security challenges bedeviling the area.
A statement issued in Kaduna by the group’s chairman, Abel Habila Adamu, lamented, 'The recent surge in violence and attacks in the area has resulted in the loss of lives, displacement of people, and destruction of property.' While trying to resolve the situation through their initiatives, he said the situation has deteriorated to a point where they require immediate intervention from the relevant security agencies and the global community.
' 'Similarly, in Kumana and Kauru chiefdoms, thousands of people have been displaced, with others killed in Dokan Karji, Bandi, Rumaya, Kwassam, Kaibi, Kusheka, Geshere, and Binawa axes, among others.' Adamu pleaded for immediate action from the government to ensure the safety and security of the people, while also calling on the government to establish two military bases, one each in Kauru and Kumana chiefdoms, to curb the security challenges in the area.
