Worried by the hardship facing people in the state, the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State, has appealed

to all pastors, Christian faithful, and other citizens to support the less privileged, who are worst hit by the security challenges and economic woes in the country. The Kaduna CAN Chairman, Rev Joseph Hayab, yesterday, called on Christian clerics and privileged Nigerians to seek deliberate ways and things to do that would enliven the homes of those worst hit by current challenges.

Hayab’s admonition was due to the consequences of security challenges and economic downturn in Kaduna State, which has started having a negative impact on the people. He said: “Today, when you visit many people at home in Kaduna State, meet them on the bus, or even during wedding and burials ceremonies, what you hear from the majority of them is the fear of insecurity, unemployment, and lack of money, among others.“When people allow these types of feelings to overwhelm them, then they may fall into more problems, such as fear, depression, high blood pressure, unstable mind with the inability to coordinate.

“When a larger part of any society is taken over by anxiety and confusion, then you will not see good planning and effective productivity from them. These are the enemy’s strategies to make people weak, to easily get rid of them. All people should, therefore, resist that negativity and develop a strong spirit of hope and courage to overcome our present challenges…

“We should continue to pray for our leaders despite their failures, do our stewardship to the nation faithfully, and pray also for the peace and progress of our nation, as we work hard to make this state and our country how we desire them should be…”
