Vice President Kashim Shettima, state governors, and members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic team are currently meeting to discuss the controversial New Minimum Wage and other national issues.POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the meeting is underway at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.The National Economic Council meeting, holding at the Council Chambers, comes on the heels of the Federal Executive Council's decision to step down the memo on the planned minimum wage increase.
The NEC meeting aims to find common ground on the minimum wage following a similar meeting of the Governors Forum last night.The NEC membership comprises 36 state governors, the Central Bank Governor, and other co-opted members, chaired by the Vice President.
