President Bola Tinubu has directed the Department of State Security Service (DSS) to immediately vacate the contentious office of the Economic and Financial
The President gave the directive on Tuesday evening after the report of siege on EFCC office was brought to his attention.
LEADERSHIP reports that EFCC had raised the alarm over siege to its office building by DSS operatives, saying the action was a threat to the fight against economic and financial crimes in the country. The anti-graft agency said DSS operatives laid siege to its part of Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos office, thereby preventing its operatives from gaining access to the facility.
According to a post on its verified social media handles on Tuesday morning, EFCC said the operatives of its Lagos Command arrived at their office on No. 15 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, on Tuesday morning, to be denied entry by agents of the Department of State Services, who had barricaded the entrance with armoured personnel carriers.
However, reacting to the accusation, the DSS denied the allegation in a statement posted on Twitter by its spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya.
