Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State, is currently leading in five of the six Local Government Areas in the state.
Although he had emerged Governor in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress , he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party to contest for the presidential ticket, lost and settled for reelection as Governor on the PDP platform. As announced at the Sokoto State collation centre in Sultan Maccido Institute, Sokoto, he has won Kware, Silame, Tureta, Bodinga and Binji LGA, respectively, while Ahmed has won only Rabba LGA so far.Sokoto State has 23 LGAs.
