JUST IN: Sokoto loses commissioner
Sokoto Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Hon Surajo Marafa Gatawa, is dead.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal announced this in a statement by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Muhammad Bello.The deceased was born on September 15, 1957.He also became the Chairman of the same local government area from 1991-1993.Between 1999-2007 he was a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Isa/Sabon Birni federal constituency.
The deceased was during Tambuwal’s first tenure, the Commissioner of Social Welfare after which he was moved to the position he held until his death. Gatawa, who had since been buried according to Islamic rites, was survived by three wives and many children.
