Hoodlums numbering about 30 have attacked the Neni Police Station and Anaocha local government headquarters in Anambra State.Eyewitnesses say the attackers were shouting, “DPO must go; he has overstayed; he has been in Anaocha for over 15 years.”
Although a source said the hoodlums also whisked away some police operatives, including some female police personnel, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, said no police personnel was taken away.
