The Nation Newspaper JUST IN: Ayu, PDP withdraw court cases, pave way for north-central to produce new chairman
News of the development filtered in while the PDP governors were meeting at Akwa Ibom Governor Lodge, Asokoro.One of the implications of the development is that Ambassador Damagum now has no option but to return to his former position as deputy national chairman while the north central zone picks someone to serve out Senator Ayu’s tenure which is expected to end by October/November next year.
It also implies that the pro-Atiku camp to which Ayu belongs has facilitated reconciliation efforts in the party and is therefore, worthy of the national chairmanship position which it is seeking for former Benue governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam.
