On the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, has tasked political leaders in the country to remain committed to the Nigerian project.

According to the Governor, the root of democracy has already been entrenched in Nigeria, barely 24 years after the country returned to civilian rule. Radda expressed gratitude to former President Muhammadu Buhari for declaring June 12 as Nigeria’s new Democracy Day, in 2018, while also bestowing a posthumous national honour on the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election, Moshood Abiola
