President Bola Tinubu officially flagged off the construction of a new armed forces complex in Abuja, Nigeria, entrusting Julius Berger Plc with the project. The complex, designed to accommodate 3,000 personnel, will feature state-of-the-art facilities and enhance the armed forces' operational efficiency.

Julius Berger Plc, the managing director Peer Lubasch, announced the company's commitment to exceeding expectations in the construction of the armed forces complex. Lubasch expressed gratitude during the project's flag-off ceremony on Thursday for the trust placed in Julius Berger to build the new headquarters in Asokoro, Abuja . The complex is expected to encompass four interconnected buildings spanning over 100,000 square meters.

This state-of-the-art facility will house offices, meeting rooms, operational centers, libraries, gyms, canteens, and specialized services to comfortably accommodate approximately 3,000 personnel. A standout feature will be a 1,500-capacity conference hall, designed to bolster the armed forces' efficiency and effectiveness in safeguarding national security. Lubasch highlighted Julius Berger's 60-year history of delivering priority infrastructure projects in Nigeria with unwavering integrity and professionalism. He expressed confidence that with continued support from clients and stakeholders, Julius Berger would surpass expectations in constructing a symbol of national pride and strength.Lubasch commended President Bola Tinubu for his dedication to enhancing the operational capabilities of the armed forces and acknowledged his administration's efforts in tackling insecurity, reforming the foreign exchange market, increasing the minimum wage, and prioritizing critical infrastructure. President Tinubu, who approved the construction commencement, directed Julius Berger to begin the first phase immediately, emphasizing its completion before the end of his term. He lauded the military's initiative and underscored the project's potential to bolster the armed forces' resilience and operational efficiency in the fight against insurgency. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Christopher Gwabin Musa explained the necessity for a new complex due to the current facility in Area 10, Garki, being inadequate to meet the operational needs of the army, air force, and navy. Musa emphasized that the new complex, chosen for its security features among other attributes, would effectively address this challenge. He lauded Julius Berger's selection as the contractor, citing their renowned track record of delivering critical infrastructure projects on schedule and to the highest standards.
